This week's inspiration: Olle Langenius

Olle is an entrepreneur and the driving force behind the new venture at the Pater Noster lighthouse as a tourist destination with a café and overnight accommodation in the lighthouse keeper's home.

Olle, you are going in and investing time and money in the middle of the pandemic to open a hotel and café on an island without regular boat traffic. Tell us how you came up with this idea?
Firstly, it is unlikely that Pater Noster will be my best investment of all time, but having said that, you always have to see things in context. I am a major owner of Stylt Trampoli, which is a well-renowned concept and design agency in hospitality. They were hit hard when the pandemic struck and many large international hotel and restaurant projects were put on hold. When Pater Noster appeared as an opportunity, we quickly realized that this is a completely unique place with unique opportunities. Also, at a time when the hospitality industry was craving "good news". Pater Noster has been named one of the world's most attractive destinations in "Bare foot luxury", where we have received a great deal of publicity during the 9 months that we have been in operation.

In what way do you think our way of traveling and traveling will change when we return to the slightly more "normal" when the pandemic has subsided?
Clearly, we have discovered the opportunities that exist in our local area, but I also believe that there is a great pent-up need to travel and meet others in exciting and attractive places. However, I don't think we will throw ourselves into jumbo jets and gigantic resorts with large buffets, but other offers will be created.

With your commitment, drive and business acumen, you have built up a great deal of experience in building and investing in businesses. What do you think are the most important qualities for succeeding in the business world?
For me, it is important that the heart is involved, it should be fun and preferably new. I believe in partnerships and like to work together with others, and then personal chemistry becomes important. Of course, I follow the model of finding strong ideas where there is an obvious market and a committed and professional team that drives the investment with great own incentives. I of course like it when it is scalable, but it is also very inspiring to be damn good at what you do.
