Lasse, you were laid off due to a lack of work when the Corona crisis took off almost two months ago. The day after you received the news, you were already at a new workplace producing protective visors for healthcare staff. Tell us how you thought about readjusting and how you acted in this tough situation?

Being unemployed doesn't mean being idle for me. Firstly, I have to look for a job to secure my livelihood. But given the times, I also realized that my time can also be used for something constructive for many.
A former customer of mine had started a project where he printed visors for healthcare staff using 3D printers. When I contacted him about my new work situation, it took half an hour and then we had a discussion about this project that I then started in.
You have now kicked off a project where you cook and distribute food boxes to people in the risk group for Corona, completely free of charge. Tell us about it!
I have a background as a head chef in the navy. (A very long time ago.) Cooking is one of my biggest interests. It's even to the point that I sometimes go in and do a few shifts as a chef at the restaurants here in Mariefred where I live because it's so much fun.
Initially, a friend asked me if I could make fifty food boxes for his mother who lives in Borlänge but who didn't really respect staying in home quarantine. Also, she has no home help to cook for her. I received a donation from another friend who lives in Bahrain to cook 50 food boxes and give to those I thought were most in need.
What struck me then was to try to reward those who actually stay at home during these Corona times by delivering well-cooked and good food to their door. What I didn't initially suspect was the willingness to donate in my own network and among others completely unknown to me who heard about this project. I now take in money via Swish and Funded By Me, a fundraising site. The entire revenue goes directly to raw materials.

You have a rare ability to see the positive in crises and changed conditions and quickly get back on your feet. What tips can you give to all those who are worried about the consequences of the Corona crisis on the labor market and the uncertainty that prevails now?
Start thinking circularly with shorter planning horizons. The classic linear thinking doesn't work as well as it used to. Disruptive shifts appear that can suddenly change an entire industry or, as now, virtually the entire economy. Then it's important to see the crisis as both a threat and an opportunity and dare to take the step to find the opportunities. The crisis we are now experiencing will create many new behaviors and needs. New ways of working in the workplace, communication and contingency planning are areas that I think will be greatly affected. Just In-time planning for the industry will change radically. Contingency planning for society as a whole as well. With the right attitude to changed conditions, you will go far.
