Fredrik, you started in the warehouse and have gone all the way to the CEO job at Triolab. An interesting journey. Tell us about it!
It has been and is a fantastic journey where I have had the privilege of developing and learning new things. I have been able to collaborate and learn from customers, suppliers, owners, and employees. My driving force has always been the desire to improve and influence. That has driven me more than titles and positions. I feel great gratitude to managers and colleagues who over the years have given me confidence in new roles. Being part of a successful company with ambitious and talented employees is fantastic.

How do you describe your leadership style?
Respect and trust are guiding principles for me.
There should be a high ceiling, and my expectation is that the employee does things "better today compared to yesterday." Clear objectives that are developed and owned by everyone in the organization are an important success factor. Boards, management teams, and managers sometimes have an overestimation of their own ability and do not have all the information (all the pieces of the puzzle) required to understand the real challenges and opportunities.
The key is to have employees who have the right skills and attitude. The employees are our most important resource, and we need to be responsive to each other's needs. With common sense and lack of prestige, it is possible to go far.

Triolab is a highly topical company, as diagnostics have been in focus due to Covid-19. What have been your biggest challenges as CEO during this period?
We have an extra important social function during the pandemic. Our diagnostic equipment is used in intensive care units and provides important answers for critically ill patients. In addition, we supply PCR equipment for covid-19 that provides rapid and reliable test results at many of the country's emergency departments and other units. Demand from our customers has been very high during the pandemic. Our biggest challenges have been workload and challenges in obtaining goods due to global shortages. It has been educational, and we are happy to be able to help our customers in their important work. Personally, I think it has been boring not being able to meet employees and customers, and I am really looking forward to being able to resume physical meetings.
I don't usually think so much about historical challenges but like to focus on future opportunities. Given our fantastic staff, the chances are great that we will continue to develop.
