Inspirational Person of the Week - Anders Storm, Group CEO of Sivers Semiconductors
Anders Storm - Inspirational Person of the Week

Anders, what sparked your interest in leadership and building technology companies?
For me, it's a great pleasure to combine two things I'm passionate about. I discovered my interest in group dynamics and leadership during my military service. I realized then that it was something I wanted to learn more about and work with. I've also always had a strong interest in technology and have worked in technology-intensive product companies.
I had the privilege of starting my career in the mid-90s as a management trainee at ABB, where I was able to learn and develop in both of these areas. About 8 years later, I ended up at Sony Ericsson, where I really got to work at the forefront of technology. I got to work with brilliant colleagues and develop the first smartphones in the early 2000s. This was one of the most exciting and challenging things I've done, which further strengthened my interest in both of these areas.
The journey from project manager, manager, middle manager, VP/COO, and later CEO has taught me a tremendous amount about leadership. It's incredibly rewarding to be involved in seeing people grow, and to do so in connection with my interest in technology and products is very fulfilling. Over the past 8 years, I have been involved in building one of the few Swedish semiconductor companies, Sivers Semiconductors, and taking it from listing on Spotlight, via First North, to Nasdaq Stockholm Mid-cap. An incredibly fun journey where I work with both leadership and super interesting technology in 5G, satellite communication and laser chips.
What is the hottest thing right now in technology trends?
The biggest trend that everyone is hearing about now is generative AI, which will affect us all. Most people probably didn't know how AI could affect us until ChatGTP was released. It is only now that the larger mass sees the incredible opportunities that AI will offer. At Sivers Semiconductors, we are already working today on how, for example, next-generation AI computers will use light instead of electricity to communicate faster with 90% less power consumption. The demands that this technology must come forward are now even clearer as the needs for AI increase.
5G and satellite communication are two other technology trends that are being pushed hard as we all want to be connected everywhere and with faster connections.
What do you do differently to spread the message about Nasdaq-listed Sivers Semiconductors?
When I started as CEO, I read an article from the news agency Direkt that they wanted to see more direct communication from CEOs in listed companies. My idea then was to find a platform for this. "Financial Twitter," as it is called, seemed to be a good platform for this purpose. Therefore, over the past 7 years, I have worked a lot with direct communication with shareholders that way. It has been very appreciated and we have gone from 1,600 shareholders to over 22,000. This has been noticed by Box Communication, which named me the best CEO on Twitter in 2021 (First North), 2022 and 2023 within the Nasdaq Stockholm Mid-Cap category. Working closely with our shareholders provides incredibly good insights into their needs and what information they are looking for. This can then be spread via, for example, capital market days, CEO statements in quarterly reports or webcasts, etc.
