BUCHEN is Sweden’s leading provider of industrial cleanup services—with projects at paper mills, steel mills, mines, and nuclear power plants, as well as for energy companies and public sector organizations throughout the country. About the role

As Chief Operating Officer, you will report to CEO Christer Hedberg and be a member of the company’s executive management team. You will have overall responsibility for operations within the Southern Business Area, with five district managers and two project managers reporting directly to you. This is a key line management position with a broad mandate and close ties to the business.

Your assignment

• Lead, develop, and coordinate operational activities across five districts
• Personnel responsibilities for district managers and project managers, with a focus on clear leadership and a strong safety culture
• Be responsible for capacity and resource planning, staffing, and the efficient use of resources across the districts
• Promote a business-oriented approach and proactive customer engagement, and handle escalations regarding major customer and business issues
• Full responsibility for results and monitoring the efficiency, productivity, and EBITDA of the business

Who are you?

• Several years of experience in operational line management in complex, labor-intensive operations
• Documented experience leading other managers, preferably across multiple units or geographic areas
• A confident, organized, and decisive leader—a “doer” who thrives on being out in the field
• A solid understanding of occupational health and safety, security, and quality assurance, as well as experience working with subcontractors
• Communicative with strong collaborative skills—integrity and courage in challenging business and security matters
• Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English

Location and Other Information

Position at one of BUCHEN’s offices in the South business area
(including Gothenburg, Lysekil, Varberg, Sölvesborg, Löddeköpinge, Norrköping, Karlstad, Örebro, or Hedemora).
Business travel is frequent, approximately 2–3 days per week within the business area. A Class B driver’s license is required.
