About the role

As HSE Manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and coordinating HSE efforts within the Construction division.

You will work closely with the business—on projects, with management, and across the organization—to strengthen the safety culture and ensure that Veidekke achieves its goal of accident-free workplaces.

The position is based in Gothenburg but involves responsibility for operations throughout the country.

Your assignment

You will:

• Lead and develop HSE efforts within the Construction Division
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines
• Strengthen the safety culture throughout the organization
• Analyze incidents and translate lessons learned into improvements
• Support projects and regions in their day-to-day operations
• Collaborate with government agencies, labor unions, and external stakeholders
• Be an active part of the organization's crisis management team

Who are you?

We are looking for a confident and experienced HSE manager with a strong connection to the business.

You have:

• Experience with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) work in construction, civil engineering, or a similar field
• Ability to combine structure, analysis, and operational support
• A solid understanding of occupational safety and health regulations
• Experience in leading improvement and change initiatives

Location: Gothenburg

Languages: Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English.

Travel: You will be based in Gothenburg but will work throughout the country. The role involves regular travel and participation in projects, sometimes on short notice. Travel to Norway may also be required for group meetings.
