Would you like to lead the finance department at the Nordic region’s leading sports retail chain—in the midst of a Nordic transformation?

Nordsport Holdings AB (Intersport Sweden and Denmark) is seeking a CFO with both strategic depth and operational strength—a financial leader who can integrate two countries and build a scalable finance function for the future.

This is a role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments—and who wants to play a key role in a company undergoing significant change and growth.

About Nordsport Holdings / Intersport

Nordsport Holdings AB is the parent company of a Nordic sports retail group that operates under four brands: Intersport (156 stores in Sweden and Denmark), Löplabbet (10 specialty stores), SportDirect (18 stores), and the sports stores within Magasin du Nord (3 stores). The Group has annual sales of approximately SEK 3.5 billion and employs approximately 2,200 people.

The headquarters are located in Krokslätts Fabriker, Mölndal, and the Danish office is in Odense.
The culture is down-to-earth, friendly, and unpretentious, while the pace is fast and decision-making processes are streamlined.

About the role

As CFO, you will report directly to the CEO and be a member of the executive team. You will oversee the finance function in Sweden and Denmark—a total of 15–20 people—and have ultimate responsibility for finance, governance, accounting, and legal compliance across the entire group.

Your assignment

  • Overall responsibility for the finance function in Sweden and Denmark – accounting, controlling, finance, and legal
  • Lead and integrate the Danish finance function (Odense) with the Swedish one
  • Financial management, FP&A, and monthly reporting to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors
  • Finance and Cash Management, Banking Relationships, and Working Capital Management
  • Legal Liability and Contract Review (the company does not have an in-house lawyer)
  • Stakeholder Responsibilities in the Planned ERP Migration (2027)
  • Optimize cost structures, contracts, and processes to improve profitability
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors

That's why this is an exciting role

  • You’re joining at a critical juncture—with a real mandate to shape the company and its finance function
  • Opportunity to lead a Nordic integration initiative and a major ERP project
  • A management-owned company where decisions are quickly turned into action
  • A close-knit, down-to-earth organization with a high level of commitment and a flat hierarchy
  • Strong brand portfolio and broad customer base – with a digital share of 18% and 2.4 million members

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced financial leader with a strong business acumen and the cognitive ability to navigate a complex, evolving Nordic organization—someone who can keep the big picture in mind, drive integration, and at the same time serve as a natural sounding board for the CEO and the board.

You have:

  • Experience as a CFO or in an equivalent financial management role with a clear business focus
  • Strong expertise in financial management and FP&A – more important than pure accounting experience
  • Experience in fast-paced industries with complex supply chains—such as retail, wholesale, or similar—is highly valued
  • Documented experience in integration and change management, preferably in an international context
  • Experience in legal administration and contract review
  • Understanding of systems and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with ERP migrations is a strong plus
  • Academic degree in economics – Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent degree

As a person, you are:

  • Smart and quick-witted – can keep up with the CEO’s pace and stay on top of the details
  • Confident and unpretentious – willing to challenge others and stand up for your opinions without being easily offended
  • Analytical and strategic with strong operational skills
  • Relationship-building and inclusive – thrives in a close-knit leadership team with a long history
  • Curious about technology and systems – driving the digital transformation of financial processes
